Recently, my son brought home a paper from school asking him to list the acts of kindness he did during the week. We enjoyed brainstorming together all of the different things he is already doing, or can do to help others. He was very excited to remember even the little things he did to help!

  1. Say "Hello".
  2. Pick up trash.
  3. Say "Please".
  4. Hold the door open for someone.
  5. Say "Thank You".
  6. Help carry in the groceries.
  7. Deliver a hand-written note to a grandparent or friend, just because.
  8. Bring a pop to the mail carrier.
  9. Put the carts back in line at the grocery store.
  10. Help make dessert, like brownies.
  11. Clear off the table after dinner even if it isn't your turn.
  12. Do a family member's chore without them knowing about it.
  13. Help fold the laundry and put it away.
  14. Focus on saying kind words all day.
  15. Say "I love you".
  16. Bring something to a sibling that they have forgotten.
  17. Help with shopping at the store.
  18. Put your laundry in the laundry basket.
  19. Wash windows.
  20. Help empty the dishwasher.
  21. Pull weeds.
  22. Put something back that has fallen to the floor at the store.
  23. Help clean the garage.
  24. Write a thank you note to your teacher or teacher's aide.
  25. Help dust around the house.
  26. Draw a picture and deliver to neighbor or retirement home.
  27. Help vacuum and pick up toys to make it easier to vacuum.
  28. Share your toys.
  29. Teach a younger sibling or child to play a game.
  30. Give a compliment.
  31. Help practice sight words or flashcards.
  32. Pick up your room without being asked.
  33. Give a hug.
  34. Invite children to play with you at recess.
  35. Help clean up the classroom after an activity.
  36. Say thank you to the lunch workers at school.
  37. Pick up the mail.
  38. Bring up the garbage can from the curb.
  39. Help cook and prepare the meal.
  40. Donate some books and toys.

It was wonderful to see my son's eyes brighten as we created this list, and we look forward to continuing to add to it!
