We're continuing our series of Fighting Cabin Fever at Fontenelle Forest with club opportunities at the forest. In our past posts we looked at Family Sundays and Snow-Shoeing the trails. But perhaps meeting a like-minded group of people is the remedy you and your kids are looking for?

Fontenelle Forest offers several clubs that meet throughout the month. Insect Club is the newest to join. Meeting the fourth Thursday of February, April, June, August, and October at Fontenelle Forest Nature Center, members will participate in educational programs, take field trips to other local destinations, and even participate in insect counts. Other regular clubs include a photo club and bird club.

In the next post, we'll take a look at the "culinary" pursuits the Forest offers for preschoolers and their parents.

Fontenelle Forest is free for members, memberships available at the Visitor Services desk. One Day Memberships are $7.00 per adult, $6.00 per senior (62+), $5.00 per child/student (2-17), and free for children under age 2. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. FF is located at 1111 Bellevue Blvd North in Bellevue, NE. Visit fontenelleforest.org for complete schedule of programs and other information. It is the general policy that Fontenelle Forest Nature Center is closed when Omaha Public Schools cancel classes due to inclement weather.
