The end of winter is in sight! We've fought cabin fever at Fontenelle with Family Sundays, Snow Shoeing, Clubs and Mud Pies, but one of our favorite cabin fever relievers is the wonderfully simple, going for a walk.

A walk through the woods is the perfect way to relieve indoor tension. The quiet wild of nature calms your nerves, focuses your mind, and is great way to tire out the kiddies. Whether you stick to the boardwalk with a stop at Acorn Acres, a one-acre natural playscape that offers children a unique place for unstructured play and outdoor learning, or take a less beaten path, you are sure to come back with less stress and maybe just a bit more healthy than when you started.

We promise winter and cabin fever don't last forever, and we hope you've been able to find some fun things to do at the Forest with your family. Make sure you come back each season, because there is always something new to discover in the Forest.

Fontenelle Forest is free for members, memberships available at the Visitor Services desk. One Day Memberships are $7.00 per adult, $6.00 per senior (62+), $5.00 per child/student (2-17), and free for children under age 2. Parking is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. FF is located at 1111 Bellevue Blvd North in Bellevue, NE. Visit fontenelleforest.org for complete schedule of programs and other information. It is the general policy that Fontenelle Forest Nature Center is closed when Omaha Public Schools cancel classes due to inclement weather.
