How can I help my baby sleep through the night?
We want to sleep for more than a few hours. Our 3-month-old baby wakes up several times throughout the night. When can we expect he will sleep at least 6 - 8 hours at night? Are there any things we can do to help him?

Most babies sleep through the night by the time they are 6 months old.
If your baby is not sleeping through the night it could be because he is not getting enough to eat during the day and needs to wake up for a feeding. Make sure to wake your baby every two hours for a bottle throughout the day.
If your baby still wakes up, it could be that night-waking has become a habit. Try to soothe your baby with a pat on the tummy or a pacifier without picking him up or turning on a light.
Or, let your baby learn to soothe himself by fussing for a short time or sucking his thumb. Before long, your baby will be sleeping through the night and if he does wake up, he will go back to sleep on his own without waking you.Read more answers by Dr. Arispe
