Can I take garcinia cambogia for weight loss while breastfeeding?
I just recently started supplementing with formula because I have no more stored breast milk to send to the babysitter's house.
Since I've gone back to work my milk has decreased and there's no way I could pump more then just one time at work. My daughter is getting formula about 2-3 times a day, and now that she is 6 months she's eating cereal and pureed veggies.
I want to take a weight-loss supplement called Garcinia Cambogia 2 times a day while I am at work. Could I take the same precautions as I would with a glass of wine? I'll be away from her for about 9-10 hours and her last feeding would be at night when she goes to bed. So in total I'm only breastfeeding no more than 2 times a day. Would It be okay for me to take this?

Medical studies conducted so far lead to the fact that the HCA found in this extract may interfere with the metabolic function of the body and therefore impact the nutrients supply.
Altering your normal rate of nutrition supply may affect the quality of your milk. When lactating mothers use this supplement, they’ll not have sufficient energy to withstand radical changes to their body often associated with the breastfeeding period.
Babies may experience some of the Garcinia effects like – loss of appetite and high metabolic rate. Moreover, the supplement can adversely affect the blood sugar level of the baby.
It is not appropriate for breastfeeding mothers to use this or any other weight loss supplement on retail out there. No data exists on the excretion of any ingredients of this extract into breast milk or on the safety of lactating mothers or babies.
Make healthy food and exercise choices for now, until you are ready to stop breastfeeding.Read more answers by Dr. Moore
