Will fenugreek affect my breastfeeding baby's stools?

I have been taking fenugreek and the product Lactation Support while breastfeeding.

I am concerned with how my baby's stools appear. Will my use of these supplements cause my baby to have different looking stools?

Thank you for the question. I can not find any research that states that the stools of a breastfeeding baby whose mother is taking these supplements look different.

I have not had unusual stools reported by moms I work with who choose to take this.. The product is an herbal supplement and may affect babies (and moms) differently. You may want to have your child's physician determine if there is any cause for concern.

EDITOR: Since this is an herbal product, it is not evaluated by the FDA in the same manner as medications. expert Dr. Greg Severson covers the safe use of herbal products in his article.
