How do I keep up my milk supply when supplementing?
Can I feed my baby formula without affecting my milk supply? My baby is 3 months old and I give him one bottle of formula per day. Will this reduce my supply and how many times per day should he feed? How long should he be feeding and when can he stop his night feeding?

You can choose to give formula instead of breast milk for a feeding, but to prevent a decrease in your supply, you must then pump the breasts during that feeding event for 15 minutes each side.
Babies eat just as adults! Sometimes they have a 10 minute drink of “water” and sometimes they have a “thanksgiving feast” and anything in between is normal. I encourage you to nurse your baby until he acts full and seems done and that can still be every 2-3 hours!Read more answers by Kolene Moore
