Should I Buy a Breast Pump?

I had problems breastfeeding my daughter, who is now 4 years old. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and I'm hesitant to buy an expensive breast pump due to the problems I had with my daughter.

When my daughter was born I only had a cheap breast pump and I could only pump a few drops in a 30 minute period. Also, my daughter would not latch on and the one or two times that she did, she didn't seem to get much. Could a better breast pump help me or will I be throwing money away?

A good breast pump is always a great investment, but that being said, most insurance companies now are paying for an electric pump due to the Affordable Healthcare Act last year.

I would encourage you to call the Methodist Women's Hospital Breastfeeding Boutique at (402) 815-1135 and visit with them about your type of insurance and what they can do for you regarding this issue. Good luck and we will see you when you deliver to help you with latching and good feedings.
