5 mo old with lump under nipple
My 5 month old daughter has a lump under her left nipple.
Although it doesn't seem to bother her, it looks like it has a wound.
Please let me know what the cause could be and what do I do?
I'm really scared. Thanks!

If the area is red or warm to the touch, then she needs seen by a doctor, as this can mean infection.
If it is swollen under the nipple, but not tender or red or warm to the touch, then this can be the effect of maternal hormones and will eventually go away.
If you are uncertain, then you should have your daughter checked out by her doctor just to be sure. These are the most common reasons for a lump under her left nipple.Read more answers by Dr. Meyer
