Could I be pregnant?

We have an 8-month-old and have not used contraception since the birth. My first cycle was when our baby was 3-months-old. Two months ago I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I started on a birth control pill but didn't like it and stopped.

I am now gaining weight, have mood swings and sometimes even have a sharp pain on my left side. I haven't had a period in the past 6 weeks, could I be pregnant?

After having your baby, you may not be ovulating every month. Your hormones may not be functioning at a pre-pregnancy level.

If this persists you should probably see your physician. If you need an obstetrician / gynecologist, find one here.

In case you are pregnant, remember that the first 8 weeks of pregnancy is a critical time in the development of your baby.
