Any recommendations for the Tdap vaccinations?
I am pregnant and I also have a toddler. I was wondering what your recommendations are for the combined Tdap vaccinations.

The latest recommendation is for all women to be vaccinated during each pregnancy in order to have the antibodies against pertussis cross the placenta and reach the baby. So with the vaccine, the mother is protected and will be less likely to transmit pertusssis to her new born infant.
We also encourage dads, grandparents and other caregivers to get vaccinated with Tdap at least two weeks before coming into contact with a newborn infant.Read more answers by Dr. Lacey
