How do I Prevent Urinary Tract Infections While Trying to Conceive?

I have heard that you should stay horizontal for 10-15 minutes after intercourse to assist with getting pregnant. I am prone to urinary tract infections (UTI), however.

How long should I wait to urinate to prevent a UTI but also ensure more chances of getting pregnant?

It is known that urinating before and after intercourse may help to prevent UTIs.

These measures may or may not help with getting pregnant, but remaining lying down for 15 minutes after intercourse may help so that semen does not leak out, so I wouldn't discourage this.

However, if you need to urinate to avoid contracting a urinary tract infection, the action of the sperm will not be adversely affected.
