Will I need a C-section?

Is there a way to determine if I will need a c-section? How far in advance is it possible to know?

There are a number of reasons why a woman may need to have a cesarean section that can be determined in advance.

These may include breech baby, previa, estimated fetal weight, prior c-section, multiples, certain fetal abnormalities, other fetal conditions, and even maternal medical problems.

Otherwise, the c-section rate is 26% in this country. Talking with your doctor can help you understand how likely you will be to have this procedure during the birth of your baby.
