ParentSavvy.com Launches Mobile Symptom Checker to Help Parents Quickly Address Health Concerns
Omaha, Neb. (Oct. 23, 2013) – ParentSavvy.com, a regional online health resource for families, has launched a mobile version of its symptom checker, an online tool that makes it easy for parents to determine the urgency of their child's medical needs. Endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and based on clinical protocols used by 90 percent of medical call centers, the mobile symptom checker guides users through a series of questions so they learn the appropriate next steps in treating a child's symptoms or injuries.
As parents become increasingly reliant on getting important information from their smartphones and tablet devices, this new mobile-friendly version of ParentSavvy.com's symptom checker makes it possible for all users to have easy access to the tools they need. In August alone, 47 percent of visits to ParentSavvy.com were from a mobile device.
"We know parenting is a round-the-clock responsibility and health concerns can arise anytime and anywhere," said Dr. Karen Kienker Meyer, pediatrician with Methodist Physicians Clinic HealthWest. "I tell my patient's parents about ParentSavvy.com's symptom checker so that they have a resource to help better understand their child's health concerns and can make an informed decision about how to address them. The mobile symptom checker is fantastic and gives them immediate comfort knowing they can get the answers they need by picking up their phone or tablet."
