Your Baby, Week 51
Your heart will leap the first time your baby says “mama” and actually means you!
Around this time, he can probably say “mama” and “dada” and follow a one-step command if you show him how to do it.
In the beginning, all baby could do was cry to communicate. Now, your little one is shaking his head “no,” waving goodbye, and pointing to ask for things.
He may recognize pictures of objects in books, and may point if you ask him where something is on the page. Even if your baby is not saying a lot yet, he probably understands much more.

Gulp...watch out for choking
Pennies, batteries, toys, oh my! If your baby gets her hands on any of these, they might end up in her mouth and—gulp—down her throat. Don’t panic, but do follow this advice.

Heart murmurs - what are they?
Your doctor may have told you your child has a heart murmur. While that can sound scary, there are many different kinds of heart murmurs. Some heart murmurs are not even related to heart disease. Learn about the conditions.

Don't battle at mealtime
