Week 38: Baby is almost here!

You’ve probably finished decorating the nursery and stocking up on newborn essentials. If not, there’s not much time left!

Last week, your unborn baby was considered “full-term,” and is completely ready to be born. All of his body systems have matured and are ready for the changes that come with birth.

The soft, downy lanugo that covered your unborn baby’s body has almost disappeared, and his lungs have matured completely.

Your unborn baby now measures about 19 to 21 inches long and weighs, on average, six to nine pounds. His head likely has turned downward now in preparation for birth.
